Johnna Crider is a citizen journalist and creative soul from Louisiana and Georgia and a survivor of homelessness and abuse.
Johnna was born outside of Atlanta, GA, but her mother struggled a lot and they were often homeless.. She moved to Shreveport, LA when she was a child and currently resides in Baton Rouge.
Johnna was first homeless as a child when she was 9 years old and more recently after her then husband kicked her out with nothing and nowhere to go in 2018. She’s since rebuilt her life and discovered her passion for citizen journalism.
While homeless (and working 2 jobs at one point) in Atlanta during her adult years, Johnna learned the art of wire-wrapping gemstones into jewelry from a Grammy-winning musician she met in Little 5.
His name was Daryl Adonis Thompson and he won the Grammy for his part in the Black Uhuru's Album, Anthem.
When he first began teaching her his craft, Daryl told Johnna, “Johnna, this is something that will save you one day.”
And it has. It got her through homelessness, divorce, and the journey itself led her to meeting SpaceX & Tesla CEO, Elon Musk in 2022.
Currently, Johnna covers Tesla and EVs for Teslarati. She also shares news about Elon Musk, Twitter and her thoughts on current events relating to both on Medium. She’s owned by 3 cats, one of which is FIV positive.
Johnna's podcast, Getting Stoned is her creative outlet along with her gem blog and online jewelry and mineral/crystal store.
